15. Mel's Kitchen
Information and Reviews
- The food was ok. Except eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon, coffee was $27!! However, the place smells awful. It says that it was established in 1947. It seems like it was renovated last around that time. Like an old carpet in a moldy hotel. Except there is no carpet. So, I am baffled what can it be.
- We popped in for a quick bite before a music show at the Regency Ballroom (couple blocks up the street) We were greeted by Antonia, who has a good sense of humor and uses it. We had some onion rings, chicken tenders & mozzarella sticks. All very healthy! Also had soup. The tomatoes basil soup was surprisingly GREAT. As well as the chicken noodles soup which was packed w/ chicken. Will go again!
- Absolutely delicious on a Tuesday morning. The chicken Caesar avocado wrap is top tier as are the fries. The fresh squeezed orange juice hit the spot and the service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and neighborly even though it’s connected to a hotel. I will absolutely be back. Sounds like some of these reviews are about 1 off item issues, but overall this place is great.
- Good food, conveniently located to enter from a hotel. Shakes were excellent, as was the chowder in the sourdough bread bowl.
